We love working with our wedding clients to create one-of-a- kind menus and unforgettable events. All of our menus feature fresh, seasonal, from-scratch cooking inspired by your unique love story. What exactly does The Delish Dish offer in terms of catering services?
We offer a truly customized, full-service catering experience. What that means is that we sit down with you to not only create a custom menu based on your needs, wants, and budget, but we also help with coordinating the rental of china, silverware, glassware, bars, tables, chairs, linens, and even centerpieces, if desired.

We also act as an on-site coordinator by setting tables, folding napkins, organizing bartending and coffee services, orchestrating cake cutting, and working with your chosen vendors to make sure every event runs smoothly and efficiently.

We don’t just make a beautiful and delicious meal—we deliver outstanding events and celebrations with style and grace. We’re here to make sure your wedding or event is the talk of the town.

Why should I trust Chef Mavis and her culinary team to make our wedding food?
After years of cooking, baking, and entertaining for family and friends, Chef Mavis enrolled and was classically trained in French cuisine at Kendall College culinary school in Chicago. She completed a Mexican Master course during her training, which inspired a real passion for the flavors of Mexico and Latin America. Chef Mavis also lived and studied in Italy and took cooking classes in Umbria, Italy. Her host-mother taught her how to make a mean artichoke risotto, and her life hasn’t been the same since. She continues to search for the best recipes or create them. She has trained her team in her recipes and techniques, so they can continue to execute her vision for delicious, fresh food at each and every event.

Can The Delish Dish accommodate various styles of dining?
We cater to all styles of dining, including sit-down dinners, buffet-style dinners, station-style dinners, and even drop-off and pick-up catering for smaller parties and events. We’re happy to work with you to determine the best style of service for your event.
How much does it cost and how does your pricing work?
Pricing varies based on many factors, such as time of day, venue layout, guest count, menu choices (BBQ chicken will cost less than beef tenderloin), etc. We work with you one-on-one to create a menu based on your guests’ age, appetite, and the type of celebration to ensure there is enough food for everyone in your party.

In catering, the menu is only part of your catering bill. We determine our pricing based on several factors:

  • Menu
    Generally delineated as a price per person. For the majority of our weddings, our dinner menus range from $18 to $40 per guest. Corporate and social event menu pricing ranges from $5 to $50 per person.
  • Staffing
    Staffing is a separate charge on your proposal. This includes your event captain, who runs the event, culinary staff, attendants and bartenders, if necessary. We determine this based on the size and scope of your event. Our staff sets up your event, serves and cleans up after guests, and then returns the space back to the original condition or better than it was found in.
  • Rentals
    Rentals are itemized on your proposal. Depending on what your venue offers, we coordinate the rental of linens, plates, napkins, glassware, and even tables in some cases.
  • Taxes, Fees, & Gratuity
    Venue fees, if charged, and applicable local taxes are applied. We also apply gratuity to all staffed events on food and service only.
So, if you charge for all these things separately, what does the total wedding catering bill look like?
Our wedding clients’ final bills range from $24 to $90 per guest. On average, Delish Dish wedding clients spend approximately $50 per guest on their catering bill; this includes from-scratch gourmet food, top-notch serving staff, rentals, taxes, fees, and gratuity. We work closely with you to help make sure you get the bang for your budget! We’ve worked with budgets from $600 to $20,000.
