At The Delish Dish, October means more than just the changing of the seasons. Sure, we are are exhausted from a long and exciting outdoor market season, but we cannot rest anytime soon. We are now entering the busiest time of the year for weddings, the fall time. With the holiday season coming up shortly, and as we look towards the upcoming cold weather, we can almost taste the eggnog and smell the delicious holiday desserts that will surely be filling our stomachs.

But before we get too ahead of ourselves, we must enjoy everything October has to offer. That means campfires and pumpkin flavored everything. It means that the leaves are changing colors, and haunted houses, corn mazes, and hayrides are open for the season. Nearly half of our staff has birthdays around this time of year, so maybe we’re all just buzzing with excitement over that as well. Either way, we decided that in order to celebrate our favorite month, we want to share some brand new treats that we’ve added to our menu this Halloween season! If you have a holiday party coming up, consider ordering any of these ghoulishly delicious and horrifyingly cute snacks that fit the spooky seasonal mood. We promise your guests will not stop talking about them!

Monster Deviled Eggs

The deviled egg is a classic staple for any snack table or appetizer display. This is our twist on the traditional recipe, which turns the eggs into a scary, rotten looking treat that secretly is delicious! Kids will love them because they look like some kind of dinosaur egg, which is great during a holiday themed around eating only candy!

Mummy Jalapeno Poppers

These jalapeno poppers wrapped in crescent rolls will without a doubt be the most popular appetizer at whatever Halloween party you are hosting! Once we attach a couple of candy eyes to give them each their own personality, and they are complete!

Bloody Red Velvet Cupcakes

Not for the squeamish, these bloody looking cupcakes are composed of delicious raspberry coulis, cream-cheese frosting, and moist red velvet cake. Topped with a candy knife, these are festive, fun, and frightening from the moment they arrive at the party until the very last bite is gone!

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bites

What kind of seasonal recipes list would this be without a pumpkin dish? These pumpkin cream cheese bites are rich with fall flavors, but will demand you eat more than one of them! Decadent, delicious, and dangerously sweet, they are a bite sized mixture between pumpkin pie and cheesecake — what else could your tastebuds ask for?

Brown Butter Rice Crispy Monsters

We love these little monsters so much! They’re so much fun because each one has a different face and personality. We have to stop ourselves from giving them names, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to give them up once we were finished making them! Since we use our brown butter recipe, they are much tastier than your traditional rice crispy treats!
